ATLASea aims to sequence, assemble, and annotate high-quality reference genomes for marine eukaryotic species observed in the French Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Of particular interest are marine species of scientific, conservation, iconic, and economic importance.
ATLASea values contributions of experts (“Ambassadors”) who can:
- Suggest species of interest
- Provide specimen(s) for this/these species
All submissions will be reviewed by the ATLASea Species Selection Committee, which meets approximately once a month.

Before using the form, please note the following
1. Anyone can submit a form, provided that the species of interest distribution intersects with the French EEZ.
2. Questions marked with * are mandatory, but please answer as many optional questions as possible to aid the evaluation process.
3. Genome assemblies and annotations produced by ATLASea will be submitted to the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA) and made publicly available upon completion.
4. Sampling must stictly follow the ATLASea Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). For example, this means that samples must have standardized collection metadata. Usually samples already stored in a freezer or in alcohol are not eligible.
5. You can check the species that ATLASea has already collected.
6. Please also be sure to review the data use policy.
7. Compliance with national and international sampling regulations is also required, as described in the ATLASea Statement below.
